Real Wedding: Leanne and Richard

*I had meant to post this story long ago… it missed my careful eye but such a sweet story must be told. Congrats to Richard and LeAnne and enjoy!

I could tell LeAnne and Richard were meant to be from the moment I met them. Finishing each other sentences and sharing so many of the same interests, planning their wedding was a breeze. They intended for a very small event with close family, a fabulous dinner and amazing service. After meeting and discussing their vision, it seemed a natural fit to have the ceremony in the Club’s Library with fireplace and views of West End and then move the guests to our Founders Room. A member favorite, this cozy space overlooks the river and LP field.

With less than 20 guests in attendance, we set on large table positioned at an angle in the room. Covered with simple, yet elegant ivory linens and Tiffany blue chair sashes were the foundation for hundreds candles running the center of the table. Bright fall orange flowers and light blue hydrangeas were used to make three centerpieces and a pop of color. Together this created a romantic and intimate space, filled with candlelight, romance and warmth. I have done weddings at the Club for more than a year and a half but this space and the look that was created really outdid all others. I still fondly think of this event and how amazing it looked.

After a sweet ceremony in our library… candles throughout to continue the theme and pictures of the couples courtship and family…guests paused for pictures and enjoyed champagne. The ceremony itself was relaxed and well match to the Bride and Groom as they suddenly interrupted with a unison statement of “Let’s get married” from the guests of honor. With dinner about to start the group marched together to the opposite side of the Club where their room awaited all a glow. Gasps were all to be heard as the guests were presented with a dramatic reveal. It was to be a memorable and special night for sure.

Dinner service began with sweet scallops wrapped in bacon and glaze with BBQ, tender crab cake finished with a mango relish, crisp romaine hearts and tangy Caesar dressing, delicate fresh fish with Chef Fonseca Mediterranean finish, grilled filet with port reduction… dinner was an experience from start to finish and could not have been more perfect. The finishing touch, carefully crafted for each guest was a pint size cake, two-tier cake and decorated with Tiffany blue fondant and so wonderfully unique. Guests would mingle, laugh and talk late into the evening, creating the perfect evening for the perfect match.
